Join us in the teen center every Sunday @ 9:00am. Our current study is the book of Acts...
"In Acts, believers are empowered by the Holy Spirit to bear witness to the good news of Jesus Christ among both Jews and Gentiles, and in doing this they establish the church. In addition to this, Acts explains how Christianity, although it is new, is in reality the one true religion, rooted in God's promises from the beginning of time. In the ancient world it was important that a religion be shown to have stood the test of time. Thus Luke presents the church as the fulfillment and extension of God's promises." (ESV Study Bible from Crossway Bibles)
We believe that the Holy Spirit is still working to spread the Gospel through the lives of every believer. Much like many of the stories in Acts, we live in a world where religion and idolatry plague the lives of many people. Sadly, most Christians today don't know how to respond to this battle. Fear, complacency, and a message of tolerance has lead us to water down the Gospel to make it more appealing to the world around us. Many Christians fail to see that the power to effectively and boldly proclaim the Gospel is not simply found in what they say and do, but what the Spirit of God can do through them. Each week we will dive deeper into the book of Acts to discover the power and work of the Holy Spirit in spreading the Gospel and expanding the Church through the lives of everyday ordinary people like you and me.
